c/o cabanas is not just a holiday home but a refuge in pure nature paying tribute to sustainability and modern design. The black cabanas reside in Brejos da Carregueira de Baixo Comporta, one hour South of Lisbon, in an unspoilt reserve of 7.600 square meters with wild pine trees, rice field views, white sandy ground and the Atlantic Sea scent in the air. A deep commitment to quality and nature is evident in every detail.

Interior and products have been carefully selected in the three cabanas that can host up to 4 explorers and unwinders. A kitchen and dining table provide space for 8 persons, so friends can be invited. Cooking and daily cleaning is taken care of (c/o). Generous terraces, a pool and a 50 km long beach in walking distance invite guests to spend their days outside.

Architecture

»People and nature shall coexist seamlessly.« Given this briefing, architect Therezia Sloet tot Everlo started drafting and conceptualizing. The construction method is based on the traditional fishermen huts of Comporta. With an innovative energy concept and well-chosen natural materials, the holiday cabanas are true sustainability role models.

Products & Procurement

The desired outcome was a holistic approach sustainability. The interior and décor uses a combination of well-known sustainable brands with artefacts bought from the locals in Comporta and Lisbon. The procurement was operated by TUTAKA aiming at resource gentleness, plastic minimization, transparent supply chains, fairtrade and organic textiles and the promotion of businesses with social impact as defined sustainability criteria.

Every item at c/o cabanas has a story to tell - stories of ecological production, of social value chains, of creativity, courage and innovation, purpose entrepreneurship and sustainable design solutions.
